Along with a redistribution of wealth through establishing a living wage. If wages, the past 40 years, had merely kept up with our productivity as workers, average wages would be much higher, and these higher wages would have been contributing to tax bases and social security. I’ve not seen calculations, but feel certain that many of the crises that we now face fiscally, would be significant reduced if not averted totally.

Or, better, implement a Guaranteed Basic Income. Then all such programs would be unnecessary.

This is a practical way to reduce economic inequality. Nearly all Americans support Social Security but do not know about this shortcoming. If we explain this clearly we could attract public support for this movement and also attract support for the Green Party.

It doesn’t seem fair that the people with the highest incomes get to dodge the tax burden on Social Security. Remove the cap.
