Message from Mr Didace Pembe Bokiaga, National President of the Congo Greens Party (PECO) to the Greens of Africa and the world, regarding the worrying situation the Greens Party of Rwanda finds itself in.
Dear Greens friends in Africa and around the globe,
I have felt greatly alarmed reading about the unfortunate and violent incidents that occurred during the Rwanda Greens Party congress on Friday 30th October in Kigali.
The Congo Greens Party denounces all forms of violence wherever they come from; that's why I deplore anyone being hurt and I implore the Almighty to grant them a speedy recovery.
On behalf of the Congo Greens Party, I exhort comrade Frank HABINEZA to show moderation and I hope for a favourable outcome of this political problem, which should be resolved according to the constitution and laws of the Republic of Rwanda.
I suggest that comrade Frank use the path of negotation to get out of this violent spiral which could cost the members of his party dear and lead to loss of human life.
I add my voice to those of Greens around the world in expressing the sympathy of all members of the Congo Greens Party who share with the Greens of Rwanda the concern to see a durable peace established in the sub-region of the Great Lakes, for a responsible management of protected areas along borders between Rwanda and the Congo, in natural areas which should be rehabilitated after all the negative environmental and social impacts they have suffered due to unstable security all along the borders of these 2 countries since 1994.
Dear Frank, our prayers are with you and may God grant you the wisdom of Solomon so that your steps will be guided towards a more prosperous and more peaceful future.
DIDACE PEMBE BOKIAGA
NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE CONGO GREENS PARTY
