

Many of us, who have no incentives but a deep concern for the future of our communities, recognize that enough is known to deem fracking more dangerous and unsustainable than it is worth, and it is not a risk that we are willing to take without considerations that go much further than they have. We must not ignore the costs and benefits of this practice and the shortcomings of the current regulatory framework (such as the implementation of adequate inspections). As with most things, there are risks and tradeoffs involved when it comes to energy production. We must not ignore the alternatives.
