Daniel Vila Rivera

zvozlays.jpegDaniel Vila Rivera has been a labor rights, anti-war and community activist all his adult life. He studied at the City University of New York where he helped organize several student organizations and was active against the Vietnam War.

During the late 1990s as a member of the Latino Workers Center he became active in the fight against wage theft. With the events of September 11 and the US war against Afghanistan he participated in the creating of New York City Coalition for Peace and Justice and its sister organization New York City Labor Against the War.

He has been a member of the Harlem Tenants Council and worked as an organizer with the American Postal Workers Union.

Daniel Vila is a member of the Sisa Pakari Cultural & Labor Center and heads the anti-wage theft campaigns and a co-producer of WBAI’s La Voz Latina.
