AVCHD.HDMI (most current video cameras) such as Canon Vixia type

Video cables connections
Firewire cables 4 pin to 6 pin (camera to Firewire 400) 4 pin to 9 pin (camera to Firewire 800)

Analog to firewire such as Grass Valley ADVC-55
(older version was by Canopus)

Analog to USB such as EZCap or Startech (I don't like these as they don't always work but they can help in a pinch)
(HDMI to whatever boxes are new and expensive so I wouldn't expect them but I can mention them if you like)

Mics
Dynamic mic XLR type (News or Singer's mic)
Wireless Mic kit such as Sennheiser, Azden, Sony, Audio-Technica

Audio Cables connections
Long XLR cable 20' - 50'
XLR to 3.5 mini adaptor
Beachtek type Mic adaptor (XLR to 3.5mini audio preamp for video)

Light Kit
Softbox and small video lights such as Lowel lights. Tungsten OK but video Fluorescent and video LED as they're more energy efficient

Tripods
Any that can mount a video camera. Fluid Head a plus.

Laptops
Core2Duo and up (i5 or i7 ideal) with Firewire port.
Should be upgradable to Windows 7 or Mac Snow Leopard or Lion.
Mac laptop with Thunderbolt port
