Without doubt. Healthcare is a fundamental human right and ought not be a condition of the ability to pay or make profit for the so-called healthcare system. We have plenty of examples to draw from to develop a system that is robust, humane, and universally accessible.

Partner with Physicians for a National Health Program (http://www.pnhp.org/) to promote a universal, single-payer health care system.

Universal single-payer health care would save enough money to cover everyone with better health care. Insurance companies are vampires that suck the blood out of our health care system.

Call it whatever you want. We need universal health care for all people seeking medical help in the United States. When you lose your job, you lose your medical insurance. We just signed up for basic insurance for two. The monthly premium is $400.00 more than the monthly cost of my 15 year home mortgage. Obamacare does little to curb the greed of the companies which supply medical insurance.

Absolutely critical. High premiums are killing small businesses. Get insurance companies out of the healthcare system!

I might encourage Medicaid for all, since we find it covers more than Medicare.

We Greens can liberate the U.S. for democracy by forcing our government to shed the HMOs and health “insurers” and instead establish guaranteed access to affordable health care through one-payer health care. That’s why I have volunteered since 2006 to make Minnesota a one-payer state. When we liberate Americans by guaranteeing them health care, then they will be bold to oppose corporate tyranny. As it is now, the “insurers” have us all in health care slavery, and we are prevented from doing democracy by the very real threat of being cut off from the health care we need to survive. I have been politically active since 1994 when I stood up to the nuclear power industry in Minnesota. But I realized we Americans cannot oppose the corporate tyrants abusing us until we are freed from health care slavery. When we win one-payer health care, we will have the security which empowers us to wield democracy against the corporate tyrants—then we will tame the tyrants, or extinct them. It is ineffective to work on the national level to achieve one-payer health care: fellow Greens, work for it on a state level, which is an achievable goal. You can convince the majority in your state to politically support one-payer for your state, you cannot convince people you do not know across the nation to support it. It is winnable on a state level; and once one state achieves the powerful economic boom generator of one-payer health care liberation, all the other states will fall into line like dominoes to implement this economic benefit.

Absolutely, and add access to alternative medicine such as homeopathy and herbalism etc.

I agree! Good and free health care should be available to everyone!
