  The Green Party of New Jersey opposes the ongoing effort by the U.S. to appropriate the resources of Venezuela as their own and believes in the right of Venezuelans to determine their own leadership without outside the intervention of outside imperialistic forces. Denver Green Party applauds the Denver teacher strike vote

(Denver, Colorado, January 23, 2019) - The Denver Green Party expresses solidarity and unwavering support for the members of the Denver Classroom Teachers Association (DCTA), who voted last night to strike. The vote passed with 93 percent of members in favor of the move, the first strike in Denver Public Schools (DPS) in 25 years. The earliest strike date would be January 28, 2019. DCTA's demands are largely focused on Denver's pay-for-performance system, called ProComp, which has resulted in teacher salaries 14 percent lower than other large school districts in Colorado. PA Green Party Elects New Co-chair

Delegates of the Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) elected a new party co-chair, Alan Smith of Chester County, at their first meeting of the new year held on January 13. Smith will join current Co-Chair Sheri Miller of Adams County, to lead the Green Party in 2019. Smith will bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to the Green Party leadership through extensive experience as a philosopher, educator, and peacemaker. As a long-distance runner, he also understands the value of patience, perseverance, persistence and pacing and uses these tools in all endeavors.
