September news from Brooklyn
And now for some great Green Party of Brooklyn events
Join the Green Party of Brooklyn at the Atlantic Antic Street Festival!
Sunday, September 24th, 2017 from 11:00am to 5:00pm
The Atlantic Antic is the biggest street festival in Brooklyn!
Please volunteer at our table where we will be fighting for Single Payer Healthcare by participating with education and signature gathering, as part of New York Health Coalition's Community Canvassing Action. We will also be campaigning for our city-wide & Brooklyn City Council candidates.
Our table will be located on Atlantic Avenue between Smith and Hoyt Streets. Take D, N, R, B, Q, 2, 3, 4, 5 trains to Atlantic Avenue.
Please RSVP to Dani at email@example.com or call (347) 218-3107 to let us know what time you can volunteer!
Green Party of Brooklyn Fall Membership Meeting
Wednesday, September 27 at 7 PM - 9 PM
31 Smith Street, Second Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201
If you plan on attending, please RSVP.
Join Greens and Green-curious. We will be talking about how best to support our campaigns in the weeks leading up to Election Day! We also have the opportunity to discuss a potential endorsement of Anthony Beckford, a City Council candidate running on an independent line in District 45, who recently changed his registration to Green.
Membership meetings are open to the general public, and we encourage you to attend even if you've never been politically active before, or if you are not yet a member of the Green Party. (Formal motions and votes are limited to registered Greens as acknowledged by the Board of Elections.)
Stick around after the meeting to grab a drink and socialize with your favorite Greens!
Saturday, October 7th, 11:30am - 1:00pm
Gather at 11:30 am in Washington Square Park (exact location TBA) for a vigil on this 16th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan. Then at 12 noon join a solemn march to Union Square for a demonstration against U.S. war threats to North Korea, and endless wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, among other countries.
