Stand for immigrant and workers' rights
I am writing to invite you to join me – and global citizens across the planet – in standing for immigrant and workers' rights this May 1st, International Workers Day.
I encourage you to find and join an action in your community to help show the world that people everywhere are uniting for people, planet and peace over profit!
This is no ordinary May Day. After decades of growing economic struggle under rule by the 1%, neofascism has taken root in the US and beyond - - with ever greater threats of xenophobia, racism, war, climate change, economic oppression, misogyny, homophobia, student debt, unaffordable health care, nuclear catastrophe and more.
In this moment of unprecedented crisis, peaceful resistance is on the rise. We urge you to help build that resistance by standing strong for immigrant rights, and calling for an end to the root causes of the migration crisis in the first place: war, climate change, fascism and economic, racial and gender oppression.
Let's build a grassroots coalition as big as the crisis barreling down on us.
And build capacity for peaceful mass action / non-participation in the fossil fuel, war-based economy that has failed working people.
This moment of peril is also a time of great possibility, as people rise up like we haven't seen in generations.
Wherever you are, I hope you'll join me in marching this May Day - laying groundwork for bigger actions to come!
It's in our hands,
