The Green Party of Santa Clara County Opposes the Gubernatorial Recall Elections

SANTA CLARA, CA – The Green Party of Santa Clara County (GPSCC) believes this undemocratic power grab by the Republican Party is yet another example of our broken electoral system. The very same system that in our deep blue California has given free rein to the Democratic Party’s corporatist, neoliberal policies by Governor Newsom and the majority of CA’s Democratic Party leadership. Candidate for Congress in PA District 1, "Congress Must Act Now!"

On Thursday, August 26, the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to overturn the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) eviction moratorium and put millions of people at risk of being forced to the streets. This is happening at a time when a surge in COVID cases is occurring, and people are still yearning for a thriving wage that doesn't require them to spend a majority of their time at their workplace. It is clear that the theatrics from the squad in sleeping on the steps of the capitol did nothing more than gather the spotlight of the media and a chance to generate energy behind reelection hopes. What is even clearer is that the U.S. House and Senate must immediately gather in their respective chambers and begin to ensure that millions don't end up on the streets. Continue reading

There is a Cure for the Covid-19 Blues

By Co-chair Tina Olson, Green Party of Pennsylvania Across Pennsylvania, this time of year begins a season for parents and teachers preparing for opening schools; dusting off iPads, lacing up new sneakers, and fulfilling the wishes of those toothless first-grader grins and whims. This year is the second year parents are faced with the uncertainty of COVID variants and supply lists for class requirements that can be economically overwhelming in this unprecedented time of scrimping and scraping. The online parent-portals are open, the animal crackers are packed, but the uncertainty of COVID variants looms over each of us as we prepare for the worst. We may be masked, but our common stressors are not hiding, our familiar struggles can not be sanitized. Continue reading

Green Party of Virginia supports striking Nabisco workers

Calls for Legislative Action to Support Workers FALLS CHURCH, VA – The Green Party of Virginia (GPVA) stands with Nabisco workers across the country who are striking from poor pandemic working conditions, including workers in Henrico County. Despite record profits during the pandemic and a CEO pay that is 561 times the median worker salary, Nabisco workers have been subjected to 7-day work weeks, 16-hour work days, changes to overtime pay that have costed some workers $10,000 in annual wages, and a new healthcare plan that will cost workers more. Green Party of Virginia opposes Del-Mar fracked gas pipeline expansion

Stands in Solidarity with Maryland Green Party FALLS CHURCH, VA – The Green Party of Virginia (GPVA) stands in solidarity with our comrades and allies in Maryland who are resisting the Del-Mar fracked gas pipeline being constructed along the Delmarva Peninsula. If this pipeline is completed it would further entrench our reliance on fossil fuels, and increases risks of environmental damage to Virginians on the Eastern Shore. The GPVA is committed to stopping all new fossil fuel infrastructure in Virginia, and instead push for a 100% renewable energy system. The GPVA has stood alongside countless activists, landowners, and workers to successfully oppose the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. We continue to stand in solidarity with those fighting the Mountain Valley Pipeline. We will oppose any attempt to extend additional fossil fuel infrastructure into the state and will work with those already opposing this project on the Delmarva Peninsula, including the Maryland Green Party. The Hoffman / Warburton campaign supports casino workers demand for a safe and smoke free workplace

Rally on Tuesday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Mcclinton Park in Atlantic City followed by a Boardwalk March to Kennedy Park! Hoffman/Warburton Campaign to Attend! The Hoffman for Governor / Warburton for Lieutenant Governor campaign stands in support of the casino workers in demanding a safe and smoke free workplace. Doctors have known for decades that smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer. 9 out of 10 lung cancer deaths are caused by cigarette smoking or second hand smoke (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Report). Thousands die every year from secondhand smoke. The link is clear and well documented. Secondhand smoke kills. Outside of cancer, secondhand smoke is also responsible for effects ranging from nasal irritation, ear infections, asthma, reproductive issues, coronary heart disease, smoke, and heart attack. Illinois Green Party Sign & Share - Medicare For All Petition

The U.S. spends far more on health care per person than any other country in the world – in fact more than twice as much as the average for other rich countries. We have the best technology and certainly among the finest physicians and other health-care professionals. Yet we are not getting our money’s worth in terms of good health. With the elections coming up, we need all the support we can get for Medicare for All! Continue reading
