Green Party Presidential candidate Dr Jill Stein returns to Providence on September 23
Dr Jill Stein, Presidential candidate of the Green Party, returns to Providence for a September 23 1 PM speech in Sapinsley Hall on the Rhode Island College campus in an event sponsored by the RIC Environmental Club. Dr Stein, fresh from standing with the Standing Rock Sioux confronting the Dakota Access Pipeline will have tales from the resistance to the fossil fuel companies all over the country. Her campaign college tour is focusing on how eliminating student debt when combined with a Green New Deal, can put our communities back on their feet, something that bailing out the banks never did.

Long Time green activist Greg Gerritt commented, "Dr Stein was very well received when she spoke against the new fossil fuel facilities that are targeted at Rhode Island this past July. Since then her campaign has taken off and she is receiving notice for being the best candidate on the presidential campaign trail this year, with practical common sense programs that would put our communities on their feet. If we keep burdening the young with massive debts, they will never be able to tackle climate change as the banks will continue to use their money to fund the frackers and pipelines. Seeing Dr Stein on the stump reminds me of what Americans would like to see in their presidential candidates. ""
Dr Stein's 1 PM speech on the 23rd is open to the public and everyone is welcome. Greens in Rhode Island and the Stein campaign thank the RIC Environmental Club and the entire RIC community for allowing Dr Stein the opportunity to speak to Rhode Islanders about the issues of our time.
