Connecticut Congressional Candidate backed by Women’s March CT

August 30, 2018 — Congressional Candidate Michelle Louise Bicking has recently been honored with the distinction of being an officially Approved Candidate by the Women’s March CT. Bicking is the first Caribbean-American woman of color to run for Congress in Connecticut, and is promoting a progressive platform of Peace and Justice, versus a long-term incumbent, Joe Courtney, who is the recipient of much support and many contributions over the years from manufacturers of military weapons. Bicking is a fervent Pro-Choice supporter as well as advocate for pay and gender equity and LGBTQIA rights. Additionally her platform distinguishes her from Courtney in calling for Eliminating Mass Incarceration and Student Debt, and Building a Peace Economy, as outlined on her website and on Facebook. Audit purchases of poisonous Roundup by the State of Missouri

St Louis, MO – In July 2018, a San Francisco jury awarded $289 million to black groundskeeper Dewayne Johnson due to cancer resulting from his exposure to Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup. As Missouri Green Party candidate for State Auditor, I am calling for a full audit of purchases of Roundup for use on roadways, state parks, schools and government buildings. I also want to know how much could be lost in lawsuits if the State of Missouri fails to pledge to not use Roundup and similar herbicides. Continue reading

GLENS FALLS, NY — Green Party gubernatorial candidate Howie Hawkins said Thursday that he did not hear a lot about the needs of upstate residents during Wednesday’s Democratic debate between Gov. Greenfield says "you're welcome" to Delgado for appropriating Green New Deal

New Paltz, NY – On Wednesday night, August 29th, at the New York League Of Conservation Voters 19th District Congressional candidate forum in Callicoon, to which Green Party candidate Steve Greenfield, the only candidate with an extensive, specific, and fundable environmental platform, was not invited, Democrat Antonio Delgado's opening statement was nearly word for word what Greenfield had been handing out on a leaflet on the sidewalk just before the event, that described a sweeping renewable energy infrastructure development plan, right down to the title "Green New Deal." Delgado had never mentioned it before, in over a year of campaigning, and despite the sudden change of rhetoric, remains opposed to The Off Fossil Fuels For A Better Future Act, HR-3671, the only pending legislation approximating the initiation of the idea, and specifying a project timetable. Local state attorney general candidate holds ‘meet and greet’ in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY – Attorney Michael Sussman, running on the Green Party line for state attorney general in November, is looking to use his national public law experience to sway voters in this upcoming election.Sussman, a long-time Hudson Valley civil rights lawyer, said Thursday night he believes the state needs an independent attorney general, one that can defend infringements against citizen rights violated by state agencies, defend the state’s sovereignty from letting corruption matters be handled by Washington and environmental degradation he feels has been perpetuated by the Cuomo administration.
