Join us and the Oly Vangardeners at Deschutes Food Forest on Earth Day for a Garden Party!
This is a project done in collaboration with the residents of the Deschutes Encampment. Come learn about permaculture and help build a food forest for downtown Olympia! We'll plant chestnut and fig trees, native currants, squash, and strawberries, among others. We'll also be cleaning and weeding around the plants we have already established. Coffee and tea will be provided by Burial Grounds Coffee Collective, but we'd be happy to have more food donations, as well!
When: 2pm-6pm Thursday April 22nd
Where: Deschutes Parkway across from Capitol Lake, just south of the 5th Ave Bridge.
You’ll see a few fruit trees and a cleared area on the roadside strip.
For anyone wanting to participate but unavailable on Thursday, this garden will need help being watered and weeded throughout the summer, so we'll have regular work groups!
