Thank you for your interest in getting involved in New York!
The Hawkins/Walker Presidential Campaign was on the ballot in 2020 as was the Stein/Baraka campaign in 2016!
The GPNY is currently pursuing ligation against new ballot access laws that restrict voter choice:
In 2022 GPNY must 45,000 Signatures in a timeframe 6 weeks at least 500 or 1% of enrolled voters from each of 1/2 of congressional districts in order to qualify to run a candidate for governor.
The 2020 Green Party presidential ticket didn’t meet the new vote threshold, resulting in the loss of ballot status for GPNY. GPNY to circulate an independent nominating petition to get a statewide candidate on the ballot but the new signature threshold has also been raised significantly and therefore would require a large amount of money to hire a petition coordinator and petitioners.
Please make a direct donation to our national Ballot Access Committee fund which provides grants, support, and coordination to states.
We are looking for people to help coordinate our statewide ballot access, registration and party-building efforts in New York as well as in their region or county. Please contact one of our ballot access leads below.
