Nationwide, there are over 250,000 registered Greens in 24 states -- and many more Greens in the other states that do not allow you to register Green or do not have party affiliated voter registration.
Below you will first find a list of states where you can register Green and it will be counted. Then you will find a list of states that either do not allow your to register Green or allow you to but do not count it. Then you will find a list of states that do not have party registration at all.

STATES WITH GREEN PARTY REGISTRATION
It's important to register Green to take a stand against the corporate parties--and in some states the ability for the Green Party to run candidates is based on the total number or percentage of voters who are registered as Greens. Encourage your friends and family to register Green!
Alaska - on the form itself, just write Green on the blank line. On the instructions page, Green Party of Alaska is listed as a Political Group (as distinct from Recognized Political Party).
Arizona - on the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. No other info on parties is provided with the instructions.
Arkansas - On the form itself, one must fill in the blank under "Party Affiliation."
California - Green Party listed on the form itself.
Colorado - Green Party listed on the form itself.
Connecticut - on the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. No other info on parties is provided with the instructions.
Delaware - Green Party listed on the form itself.
District of Columbia - Instructions say you must choose a party to vote in the primary, and Statehood Green is listed.
Florida - On the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. Instructions provide link to SoS website, which lists the Green Party as a minor party.
Iowa - Green Party listed on the form itself.
Kentucky - Fill in one of the boxes to select a party registration (Democratic Party, Republican Party, and Other). If you check “Other”, please type in the name of your chosen entity. You may choose, Constitution, Green, Libertarian, Reform, Socialist Workers, independent status, or something else of your choice. If you choose “Other”, you are eligible to vote only for nonpartisan offices in any primary election. You may, however, vote for any candidate of your choice in all general and special elections. Note: You may change your political party registration at any time on or before December 31st to remain eligible to vote in the following political party primary election.

New Jersey - On the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. No other info on parties is provided with the instructions.
New Mexico - On the form itself, just write Green on the blank line.
New York - Green Party listed on the form itself.
North Carolina - on the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. New forms will be printed with Green on them as the Green Party gained ballot status in March 2018.
Oregon - Pacific Green Party listed on the form itself.
Pennsylvania - Green Party listed on the form itself.
Utah - Green Party listed on the form itself.
West Virginia - Mountain Party listed on the form itself.
STATES WITH PARTY REGISTRATION BUT NO GREEN REGISTRATION (OR GREEN REGISTRATION IS NOT TRACKED)
We encourage you to register as Unaffiliated or Independent to show your discontent with the corporate two-party system. Where there is a blank, please still fill in "Green" as it could later be counted if the Green Party were to gain official status in that state.
Idaho - Four parties and “unaffiliated” are the only choices.
Kansas - Three parties and "Not affiliated with a party" are the only choices.
Nebraska - On the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. No other info on parties is provided with the instructions.
New Hampshire - Instructions say that one may only register Dem, Repub, or unaffiliated.
Oklahoma - On the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. The following disclaimer appears: If you indicate a political party that is not currently qualified, or you do not indicate a choice, you will be listed as "No Party"
Rhode Island - On the form itself, one must check “other” and fill in the blank. No other info on parties is provided with the instructions.
South Dakota - On the form itself, fill in the blank line for "Choice of Party."
Wyoming - Four parties and “unaffiliated” are the only choices.
