Ohio Green Party Condemns Harmful Spending Bill, Defense Spending Increases, and Nuclear Safety Rollbacks Cleveland, OH – March 14, 2025 – The Ohio Green Party is deeply concerned about the implications of the recently passed spending bill, which the Democrats have failed to defeat on what was essentially a party-line vote and now looking at a short term funding extension until April 11th to negotiate bipartisan legislation. The Green Party of New Jersey Statement on the kidnapping and illegal detention of Mahmoud Khalil

Mahmoud Khalil was kidnapped from his Columbia University home, in the presence of his 8-month pregnant wife, by DHS/ICE agents on Saturday, March 8. The issue with the actions taken by DHS, ICE and the US Government is a simple one. Armed agents of the state should not be kidnapping, arresting, detaining and/or attempting to deport legal residents of the United States for exercising their right to freedom of speech or political protest. It sets a dangerous precedent, one which would allow the US government to utilize armed agents to silence dissent and deny any resident, despite status, political freedom. Continue reading

Presidential Election Results The 2024 Green Party ticket of Jill Stein and Butch Ware received the second highest presidential general election write-in total in any state in U.S. history. The New York State Board of Elections released the official vote from the November election, including the write-in vote for declared write-in presidential candidates. The only candidate with a higher total was independent candidate Eugene McCarthy in California in 1976, who received 58,412. Also, team Stein/Ware finished third in the national presidential election, behind the Democrat and Republican candidates, placing above the Libertarians and other parties. Continue reading
