Climate poses the greatest threat to the future of humanity
ALBANY, NY – The Green Party is the strongest political voice calling for real solutions to reduce the severity of climate change and to provide hope for a decent life for future generations. Democrats and Republicans at all levels – from the state to the White House and Congress – continue to protect the fossil fuel companies and their profits so the special interest campaign contributions keep flowing.

ALBANY, NY – 12/13/21 - The Green Party of New York (GPNY) said that the initial draft climate plan by the Climate Action Council falls far short of adequately responding to the Code Red for the Planet warning issued by the world’s scientists in the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).

World leaders have gathered for COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland to address the most fundamental issue facing countries across the globe: Climate change. COP stands for "Conference of the Parties" to the Kyoto Protocol.
It was in Kyoto in 2005 that industrialized nations, including the U.S., first committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. COP21 took place 10 years later in Paris. At that convening, all the parties agreed to keep the increase in global average temperature to below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

(SYRACUSE, NY – October 3, 2021) Howie Hawkins, the Green Party's 2020 presidential candidate, blasted Democrats today for accepting token climate measures in the shrinking Build Back Better reconciliation bill.
"Biden's original climate proposals in his $2.3 trillion American Jobs Plan last March were inadequate to begin with. Only about $100 billion a year in that proposal were climate-and energy-related spending. Its policies included counter-productive measures like further natural gas development," said Hawkins who made a detailed critique of the plan's climate provisions at the time.

Stands in Solidarity with Maryland Green Party
FALLS CHURCH, VA – The Green Party of Virginia (GPVA) stands in solidarity with our comrades and allies in Maryland who are resisting the Del-Mar fracked gas pipeline being constructed along the Delmarva Peninsula. If this pipeline is completed it would further entrench our reliance on fossil fuels, and increases risks of environmental damage to Virginians on the Eastern Shore.
The GPVA is committed to stopping all new fossil fuel infrastructure in Virginia, and instead push for a 100% renewable energy system. The GPVA has stood alongside countless activists, landowners, and workers to successfully oppose the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. We continue to stand in solidarity with those fighting the Mountain Valley Pipeline. We will oppose any attempt to extend additional fossil fuel infrastructure into the state and will work with those already opposing this project on the Delmarva Peninsula, including the Maryland Green Party.
