The Green Party of the United States condemns the Trump administration’s threatened deportation of Mahmoud Khalil, an Algerian citizen Green Card holder targeted for his pro-Palestine activism. The Green Party also demands his immediate release, and that he be returned to New York City pending the resolution of his court case.

Mahmoud Khalil was kidnapped from his Columbia University home, in the presence of his 8-month pregnant wife, by DHS/ICE agents on Saturday, March 8.
The issue with the actions taken by DHS, ICE and the US Government is a simple one. Armed agents of the state should not be kidnapping, arresting, detaining and/or attempting to deport legal residents of the United States for exercising their right to freedom of speech or political protest. It sets a dangerous precedent, one which would allow the US government to utilize armed agents to silence dissent and deny any resident, despite status, political freedom.

Greens also condemn the United States for failing to arrest Israel President Netanyahu, an indicted war criminal, when he came to Washington, DC to meet with Trump. It called on Trump and Congress to make clear that the U.S. strongly opposes the ongoing efforts by Netanyahu to break the ceasefire.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations released its final 2024 presidential election survey on Friday, showing a statistical tie between Green Party nominee Dr. Jill Stein and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris among Muslim voters.
CAIR, a national Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, has polled Muslim voters multiple times throughout this election cycle, although it did not begin releasing its presidential polling results until August. For this latest survey, CAIR, in collaboration with pollster Molitico, surveyed 1,449 verified Muslim voters from October 30 to October 31. The organization reports a margin of error of 2.5%.
