February Newsletter – Convention Details!
January was an active month for the Green Party of Texas. We filed with TX SOS to seek 2018 ballot access. Many Greens across Texas participated in the national Women's March activities including the Harris County Green Party with the Houston Women’s March. Many Greens across the country spoke to our Green vision and platform at Greens speak out on the State of the Union. This series offers good insight into what it means to be Green. Happy 2018 to all Greens and Greens-at-heart. We begin this year with a renewed commitment to bring the message of People, Planet and Peace Over Profit to our communities. Our work will be guided by the Green Party's four pillars of Social Justice, Democracy, Ecology, and Peace.
We truly believe that if everyone in our country could make a free and informed choice about their political party, they too would be Green! Because fundamentally, we all share the Green's HUMAN values! Please begin this year with us by renewing your support and commitment to our mission and shared values. If you are not already a registered Green, take the leap and register to join the original people's party.
Single Payer Health Care is our goal for the New Year
If you missed the December monthly meeting, fear not. We taped our guest speaker, Dave Attridge from Recovery Now, NY – including the Q&A section – and you can watch it on YouTube at https://youtu.be/1pToHVfZ1Ak. Folks who were at that meeting were interested in creating a local platform plank for the Green Party of Monroe County and that process is in progress. We hope to have something for registered Greens to vote on at the next monthly meeting. That meeting happens to be…
Join us on Thursday, January 11th at 7:00 pm at the Flying Squirrel Community Space, 285 Clarissa Street in Rochester.
It’s going to be a meeting full to the brim as our guest speakers will be Alice Carli and Rohith Palli from the local chapter of the Campaign for New York Health. We will be discussing ways to get Single Payer Health Care in New York State. There will be action to take at this meeting, so it won’t be just talk. Just like last month, we hope to have a group of people (of any and all political persuasions) who would be interested in creating a Green Party local platform plank on health care.

Happy Independence Day to you all. We Greens are big fans of our government being independent from corporate influence, so by principle we do not accept donations from Lobbyists, superPACS and corporations. The Green Party of US is the only party on the ballot in 48 States that can make that claim. If you believe we will not have our democracy back until we eliminate the influence of money on our politicians and policies, then join us in standing for PEOPLE, PLANET, PEACE, OVER PROFIT.
This year our Green Party of Santa Clara Chapter was honored to be marching in the San Jose Rose, White and Blue Parade on July 4th. We celebrated this day by declaring our continued independence from corporate-run politics, while sharing our message of peace, love and justice with our community. Photos can be seen here.
