Green Party Says Cuomo's Proposals Would Help Doom the Planet
Albany, NY -- Green Party of New York officers said Gov. Cuomo's State of the State preview was short on everything except Andrew Cuomo's positioning for the 2020 Presidential election. The party leadership said Cuomo's plans on climate change and health care will doom millions of New Yorkers who already suffer from the intensifying climate catastrophe, and from the ongoing health care emergency of nonexistent or expensive, poor insurance. They also stated that Cuomo's proposals for electoral reform needed to include RCV, proportional representation, and full public campaign financing.

Maine Green Independent Party co-chairs Riva O'Rourke and Jon Olsen today condemned the Maine State Legislature's actions in special session yesterday in passing passed LD 1646, "An Act To Implement Ranked Choice Voting in 2021." This bill, supported by members of both the Democratic and Republican parties, "sabotages the citizen referendum on ranked choice voting," said Olsen and O'Rourke. "This vote severely damages our first-in-the nation statewide effort to initiate RCV, and may have dealt it a fatal blow."

Gilbert Harris of Limerick, co-chair of the Maine Green Independent Party (MGIP) , today hailed the victory of ranked choice voting in Maine.
"The majority of Americans did not vote for Donald Trump, just as a majority did not support Governor Paul LePage," said Harris.
