Your vote will save the Green Party in New York

BROOKLYN, NY – Early voting starts October 24, and Election Day is only 30 days away, on November 3! Your help is needed to save the Green Party ballot line in New York State by getting out the vote for the Hawkins/Walker campaign! Months ago, Gov. Cuomo hatched a scheme to kill off the Green Party and other alternative parties in NY.

Although the Green Party is working with other alternative parties to legally challenge Cuomo's extreme voter disenfranchisement, we may not prevail in the courts. If not, we're required to get 130,000 votes in the presidential race or 2% of votes cast, just to maintain our ballot line!

Why vote for Howie Hawkins?

By David Sutliff Atias
September 8, 2020

In this post we’re going to address that worn out excuse for not voting Green: it’s a waste of your vote. Voting for what you believe in is NEVER a waste of your vote. It is what voting and elections are supposed to be about. In fact, I argue that this concept of voting for what you actually want instead of against what you don’t want is the only thing that makes voting worthwhile.

Ranked-Choice Voting: an idea whose time has come

Climate activist Bill McKibben took to the New Yorker recently to advise me and the Green Party to stand down our presidential campaign and instead work for ranked-choice voting (RCV) so we don’t “spoil” the election for Joe Biden (“Instead of Challenging Joe Biden, Maybe the Green Party Could Help Change Our Democracy,” April 15).

The problem with McKibben’s advice is that the Green Party’s demand for replacing the Electoral College with a ranked-choice national popular vote for president will not even be raised in the presidential campaign if the Greens are not in the race.

Vote Today, 6 AM - 9 PM. Green Party. Row D. Defy Cuomo and Trump

Vote today as if our Lives Depended on it. They do.

Please vote Row D, Green Party. Most important is our ticket of Howie Hawkins and Jia Lee. Only votes for Governor / Lt Gov count towards the 50,000 threshold needed to continue as a ballot qualified party, which makes it much easier for us to field candidates.
