Congress and state legislatures should ban hydraulic tracking PDQ—proposed and existing. It is an environmental, health, and possibly geological fiasco that should never have been permitted, though I can sympathize with struggling farmers offered easy quick money and no true impact info agreeing to this. Drilling firms or if necessary federal government should pay off those agreements, despite my mixed feelings on that point.

Fracking causes horrible pollution and also causes health problems fracking should be banned immediately

Best solution: NATIONALIZE ENERGY and OUTLAW ALL EXPORTS of Fossil Fuel energy resources or products.

A chara Glen…No it should never trump public health…
My biggest campaign need is a return to Roosevelt’s ‘freedom from fear’ platform. We should NOT have to fear having insufficient health care…we should NOT have to fear greedy banks foreclosing on our houses because we’ve had a serious illness; we should NOT have to fear corporations taking away our public lands for the wealth of a coprorate few, we should NOT have to fear having safe drinking water because URI has dumped massive amounts of uranium into the local water table (it sure saves money rather than having to transport it to a safe facility) and we die from hideous forms of cancer for the next 35 years…yup and NOW they are planning to return and use the EXACT same in-situ approach but with a rubber liner instead this time…what gives?

Fracking is horrible for groundwater, local environments, public health, methane and other pollution into our atmosphere, and ruining the climate. Should private profit trump all of that???

This technology is literally killing our enviorment and wildlife…we don’t need to be doing this!

Fracking hurts people’s health, local environments and water supplies, and the earth’s climate. It also artificially stimulates the extraction of oil and natural gas, so it deceives people into thinking that extracting oil and gas is feasible, when it’s grossly unnatural and hastens the destruction of health, environments and climate.

While I agree we want to end fracking and leave it in the ground, I see it as part of a larger issue and think our front issues should be large and thus inclusive of a whole array of issues. Isn’t this a part of End Corporate Power Over Our Resources? ..or something like that?

Fracking (“unconventional energy extraction,”) participants, and their supporters; must not only be stopped and put out of business, but forced to make FULL restitution for the harm they’ve caused. Admit a COLOSSAL mistake, and outlaw it immediately, without exception. Confiscate ALL profits and assets, and nationalize energy, allowing NO profit to be involved at any level, nor export of our resources allowed. Like “pure finance,” fossil fuel energy extraction has, for well over a century, proven itself not only ill advised in the long run, but has also fostered a criminal industry, that, at least in the worst “sacrifice zones,” has caused some of the greatest public harm and suffering in the history of the world. It must not be allowed to continue, nor, due to an entrenched policy of extreme punishment, ever be considered feasible again.
