April 2024 issue The past weekend was an exciting and busy time for Greens across the Hoosier state as we were out at many Earth Day events. This marks the start of outreach season as we promote our eco-justice and environmental values. This is going to be a great year for Greens in Indiana as we organize for our people and our planet. Meet Our Candidates!

Earlier this month, the Green Party of Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District met to endorse two amazing candidates: Rachel Braaten for Mayor of Crystal, and Toya López for MN State House District 61A. These campaigns are an amazing opportunity to build independent, progressive grassroots power, as both Rachel and Toya are running for open seats (incumbents aren't running for re-election) in areas where Greens have seen success in the past. YES Condemns Censorship in Education

Young EcoSocialists of the Green Party of the United States condemn efforts of Republican lawmakers to censor educators.  Recently in the state of Louisiana, Republican lawmakers proposed a bill to criminalize librarians who join the American Library Association.  The bill also states that librarians would also be subjected to hard labor, and would also be in prison for “not more than two years or both.”  This directly and indirectly chills freedom of speech and association of librarians who use and have used the ALA as a resource during their career. It is also an attempt to weaponize the state to punish an organization that does not cater to the ideology of a political party. Continue reading

Green Party of New York Solidarity Statement Supporting Students Against Genocide

The Green Party of New York (GPNY) expresses its full support for and solidarity with the student-led occupations at Columbia University, City College of NY, the New School, New York University, and around the nation. GPNY also backs the demands of Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), the coalition of student groups involved in the occupation, which demands that Columbia and other universities divest from companies and academic institutions that profit from or engage in the State of Israel’s acts of occupation, apartheid, and genocide.  Continue reading

News from Rochester

The Green Party of Monroe County is about to start week 2 of signature gathering to get Dr. Jill Stein on the ballot in New York State.  No surprise, but the weather doesn't look that great for this week, but there ARE opportunities.  Wednesday, April 24th is the first Food Truck Rodeo at the Public Market, 5-9pm.  As of right now, there's not supposed to be any precipitation, but it will be chilly.  If you like your weather to be "brisk", join some other hardy petitioners to gather some signatures.
