  • Why do we need EcoSocialist Movements?

Ecosocialists start with the premise that environmental degradation and social injustice stem from the same source: an oppressive system that puts profit over people, planet, and peace.

The Green Party of California invites you to join us on April 10th, at the third and final event in our series, EcoSocialist Movements, co-hosted by the Green Party of California and the Green Ecosocialist Network. We will discuss some of the leading global and national movements that help us move towards an EcoSocialist future.

Our inspiring speakers include:

  • Ajamu Baraka - Black Alliance For Peace, National Organizer, and Spokesperson

  • Michelle Vassel - Wiyot Tribal Administor

  • Kali Akuno - Cooperation Jackson Co-founder and Co-director

The program will open with a performance by Marina Lopez, followed by discussions by three guest speakers, then deeper discussions will follow for each topic in breakout sessions.

See the recording of the first webinar of the series Towards an Ecosocialist Future here (VIDEO) as we dove into the meaning of EcoSocialism and in the second Ecosocialist; From Theory to Practice (VIDEO), we focused on 'non-reformist reforms' that transition us to EcoSocialism.

We invite all County Green Parties and other organizations to co-sponsor this event. Please contact us if your organization would like to be among our co-sponsors. Also please share and promote this event to your community groups and contacts.

This event is open to all and free, advance registration is required.
