Ballot Access

The Maryland Green Party is hiring a ballot access coordinator

Because of the performance of our Presidential candidates in 2016, state Green Parties have maintained ballot access in 21 states, more post election ballot lines than we have had in over a decade!

Many of these states still require the party to run candidates for office in order to maintain that ballot line beyond the 2020 Election Year.

Between now and September of 2020 Green Party volunteers will need to collect upwards of 800,000 signatures to get our candidates and all of our state parties on the ballot for the general election. All fifty states have their own laws and regulations as it relates to who actually gets to be on the ballot, with some states requiring as many as 65,000 or more signatures! In 2016 the Jill Stein campaign spent over $800,000 to get on the ballot in a record number of states. If we are going to meet or exceed that number in 2020, we are going to need lots volunteers and funding to do it.

This is where we need you! Please fill out the volunteer form below to help us to get on the ballot in all 50 states + DC and territories in 2020 and beyond! Even if you live in a state with ballot access, chances are you have neighbors who don’t. We need volunteers to collect petition signatures, phonebank, provide graphic design/written content, and many other various tasks.

Please make a direct donation to our national Ballot Access Committee
fund which provides grants, support, and coordination to states

All donations will be earmarked for ballot access, and be used to help us achieve the goal of ballot access in all states and territories. Currently the Ballot Access Committee is operating on a budget that is a small fraction of what the Stein campaign spent in 2016. Please donate today!

If you are able to volunteer to help petition, please first fill out the form at the bottom of this page. Then find your State Page here for more details on helping with your state.
