Longmont Green Party Launches Campaign to Create an Eviction-Free Colorado
LONGMONT, CO. – The Longmont Green Party has initiated a bold campaign aimed at ensuring the stability and security of Colorado residents’ housing. With the goal of creating an eviction-free Colorado, the party is urging voters to take action by calling and emailing their state lawmakers to support the renewal and expansion of the Emergency Rental Assistance Grant Program.
The Emergency Rental Assistance Grant Program has been a beacon of hope for countless families across Colorado after more than 35,000 eviction filingsin 2023, providing vital support during times of financial strain, particularly amid the challenges posed by the ongoing cost of living crisis. However, as the program’s current expiration of June 30th, 2024 approaches, the Longmont Green Party recognizes the critical need to renew and expand its scope in 2024.
“We believe that housing is a fundamental human right,” stated Patrick Dillon, spokesperson for the Longmont Green Party. “No family should face the fear of eviction due to financial hardships beyond their control. Renewing and expanding the Emergency Rental Assistance Grant Program is an essential step towards creating a more equitable and secure Colorado for all its residents.”
The Longmont Green Party is calling on voters across the state to join this crucial movement by contacting their state lawmakers via phone calls and emails. By amplifying their voices collectively, Coloradans can influence policymakers to prioritize the renewal and expansion of this essential program.
“Our campaign aims to empower individuals to make a difference,” added Patrick Dillon. “By engaging in this advocacy effort, voters can directly contribute to preserving housing stability, preventing homelessness, and fostering stronger, more resilient communities across Colorado.”
To support this cause, the Longmont Green Party has provided resources and guidance on how constituents can reach out to their state lawmakers, emphasizing the importance of their participation in securing the future of housing stability in Colorado.
