Looking Back on 2023 and Forward to 2024
2023 has been an amazing year for the Green Party of Minnesota (GPMN)! At a general membership meeting in January, we promised our members to bring new energy into GPMN, and we have done exactly that. We are connecting with members old and new, and we are excited to continue engaging and activating Greens across the state going into the new year! We are more committed than ever to building an independent progressive grassroots movement here in Minnesota and hope that you will join us in this effort.
GPMN itself has been busy, but so have elected Greens! In Minneapolis, Samantha Pree-Stinson, president of the Board of Estimate and Taxation, has been leading an effort to implement a public housing levy, and that became a reality earlier this year. Through her leadership, the City of Minneapolis will raise millions of dollars dedicated to expanding and improving public housing.
The future of the Green Party of Minnesota looks bright! We have a lot of great things coming up and hope you will join us for them. The first event is the Fifth Congressional District’s monthly get-together on January 12th from 6 to 8 PM at 4200 Cedar Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407. Additionally, we are in the planning stages of an anti-racism training that will be open to everyone, as well as the 2024 Green Party presidential primary.
If you want to help us make a world that puts people, planet, and peace first, you can contact us at [email protected], and let us know if you’re interested in volunteering, running for office, or helping another way!
We hope you have a happy new year!
In peace and solidarity,
Green Party of Minnesota
