Misión Boricua: First Recovery Summit for Puerto Rico
The Green Party of Florida has been invited to be one of the co-hosting/sponsoring organizations for this summit along with the U.S. Green Party Latinx Caucus. We want to invite you to Misión Boricua’s First Recovery Summit on Thursday November 16th from 5pm – 8pm. This is the initial conversation of the several that we will have regarding the reconstruction of Puerto Rico. We will be discussing two major topics: Jones Act and voting. Phillip Arroyo, JD., will be one of our speakers with his presentation “The Jones Act: Breaking Puerto Rico’s Shackles” as well as Doug Head, Chairman of County Watch, who will be presenting “Secret of Success for Community Voting.” We will also be registering people to vote and taking voter restoration signatures. In addition, we will also be accepting grocery and household donations for recent arrivals from Puerto Rico which will be donated to Latino Leadership. For food count, please RSVP. The Misión Boricua: First Recovery Summit will be held at the Ana G. Mendez University System’s Library: 5601 S. Semoran Blvd. We encourage all who want to learn more about Puerto Rico’s situation to join us in this important conversation.
Queremos invitarlos a la Primera Cumbre de Recuperación de Misión Boricua el jueves 16 de noviembre de 5pm – 8pm. Esta es la conversación inicial de las varias que tendremos sobre la reconstrucción de Puerto Rico. Discutiremos dos temas principales: el Acta Jones o Ley de Cabotaje y votación. Phillip Arroyo, JD., será uno de nuestros oradores con su presentación “El Acta Jones: Rompiendo las Cadenas de Puerto Rico”, y Doug Head, presidente de County Watch quien presentará “Secreto de Truinfo en las Votaciones Comunitarias”. También estaremos registrando personas para votar y tomando firmas de restauración de votantes.Ademas estaremos colectando alimentos y articulos del hogar para recien llegados de Puerto Rico.
