Petition Signing Party for Santa Clara Green County Council
Saturday, October 5, 3:00 – 6:00 PM
San Jose Jose Peace & Justice Center, 48 S 7th St, San Jose, 95112
Please join us at our Petition Signing Party as our County Council candidates gather signatures from registered Greens to get on the ballot for the March 2020 Primary Elections! Come by and enjoy a fun afternoon of food, drinks, and music while meeting new Greens and discussing our work and campaigns.
We'll also have voter registration forms (on paper and online) for people to register as Greens on the spot. We need your voice and your votes! Thank you!
Tell Gov. Newsom to Sign These Bills into Law!
There are many bills sitting on Gov. Newsom's desk waiting to be signed into law before October 13. Here are a few that you can help with:
- Please add your voice to the call for Gov. Newsom to sign the public banking bill AB 857 into law. Click here to call, email, and sign the petition.
- Please call for Gov Newsom to sign AB 5 into law. This landmark bill is a significant step forward for gig workers in the state and workers' rights in general.
- Please write Gov. Newsom a letter asking him to sign SB 212 into law. This bill would allow all cities, counties and school boards, not just charter cities, to use ranked choice voting. Click here to enter a comment and choose 'SB00212\Elections: local voting methods' as the subject.
- Please ask Gov. Newsom to sign AB 1482 into law. This rent cap bill would regulate how much rent can increase per year (5% + inflation rate). Click here to enter a comment and choose 'AB01482\Tenant Protection Act of 2019: tenancy: rent caps' as the subject.
THANK YOU!
Join Santa Clara Greens at Jake's First Fundraiser!
Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
(Location TBA upon RSVP)
Jake Tonkel, our county councilmember, grassroots community organizer and a senior biomedical engineer, is running for San Jose City Council District 6. Our party has enthusiastically endorsed Jake and we invite you to join us at his first fundraiser on Sept. 28.
Jake is not accepting corporate donations, this means a true grass roots campaign that requires the community's support to make it through the 2020 primary election. No donation is too small, so please come out and give whatever you can. Every dollar, every voice and every vote counts.
