The Green Party is looking for qualified candidates to run for elected office in 2019 and 2020. We are seeking candidates with a bold Green vision and the desire to run a successful campaign. We want candidates who are ready to engage in a mission that will help build the base of our party and advance the values and platform of the Green Party.

Ideally, candidates will achieve success in their campaign and be prepared to serve their communities with integrity and accountability as a Green elected official.

We are encouraging Green Party members everywhere to step up and run for office. Seats around the nation are on the ballot, including city council positions and school board seats. These municipal-level races are winnable and we need to build a base of local Green officeholders to help support even bigger wins in the future.

Candidates who start early on their campaigns have a better chance of success and that’s why it’s important that you get started right away. Filing dates are fast approaching and the time for action is now.

Across the US, Green Party candidates will be challenging Republicans and Democrats in the upcoming elections. We need leaders with experience at public speaking, administration and planning. It is helpful to have a comprehensive understanding of financial reports and budgets.

The Green Party is especially interested in candidates who are members of under-represented populations. We are seeking women, members of the LGBT+ community, African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics, people with disabilities and young people to join us as we advocate for better public policy and a brighter future.

Green Party officeholders nationwide are currently working diligently to represent the voters who elected them. Greens are helping to craft policy on important issues including civil rights, a living wage, affordable housing, alternative voting systems such as Ranked Choice Voting, peace initiatives and ordinances that will protect our environment.

Our elected officials are standing with the people in opposition to serious issues like urban sprawl, fracking and the expansion of corporate power and control. These Greens are reaching out to voters of diverse backgrounds and are bringing together coalitions of individuals and organizations in their communities in order to improve and strengthen their local governments.

The Green Party has a powerful vision for a better America, but we can’t realize that vision without you.
