A Small Victory
First, I wanted to let everyone know that the bills we opposed in the state legislature, which aimed to hamper the removal of monuments to white supremacy, did not pass. This is a small victory, to be sure, but it's the first time our local group has looked at specific state legislation. We can see that there is much more to do if we are to advance a Green agenda through the legislative process.
Second, I wanted to remind you that our special session on bylaws is coming up on Saturday. RSVP on our website. Bylaws are necessary for the progress and sustainability of our local Green Party chapter. In advance, please peruse these organizing ideas from the national Green Party.
Third, one of our members brings to our attention an "Advocates Happy Hour" this Friday evening, 16th of June at 6:30 pm. It's at 144 Elk Place #1401. Dial 005 at call box and take elevator to 14th floor. Feel free to BYOB. We don't know much about this except that it's apparently organized by Fox Rich and she indicated Greens would be welcome "as we toast to what we've accomplished thus far, and drink to the work that lies ahead."
