Degrowth: An Eco-Socialist Perspective

The Green Party of California is proud to partner with the Green Eco-Socialist Network (GEN) to co-sponsor the ongoing Degrowth webinar series.

Join GEN on Saturday, March 16, at 10am pacific as they co-host Degrowth: An Eco-Socialist Perspective. This offering is free and open to anyone, but advance registration is required. Click HERE to register.

At the core of eco-socialism is the struggle to address the ecological crisis that threatens all life on this planet. This means addressing the deadly drive for endless growth that defines capitalism. The way to do so is a point of departure within the eco-socialist community. This participatory webinar will bring different viewpoints.

Long-time Green Party leader Gloria Mattera will moderate a discussion between:

• Andrew Ahern, environmental organizer, freelance writer, and public educator based out of New England.

• Dr. Bengi Akbulut, Associate Professor of Geography, Planning and Environment at Concordia University in Montreal.

• Dr. Matthew T. Huber, Professor of Geography in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and author of "Climate Change as Class War: Building Socialism on a Warming Planet"
