ELECTION DAY: This vote is about you!
Today is Election Day! If you didn't have a chance to participate in early voting, today is your last chance to vote Green-Rainbow. Please look up your polling place here: http://www.sec.state.ma.us/wheredoivotema/
Polls are open until 8:00 pm across Massachusetts.
The front page of this morning's Boston Globe reads, "Donald Trump is Right. The Vote is About Him."
Well, here at the Green-Rainbow Party, we think the vote is about you. The corporate media may be split on whether they love or hate Trump, but both sides hang on his every word. This media obsession with Trump feeds into his power and erases our agency beyond marking a ballot.
Headlines like this convince us that we need a second political party – one that will put the narratives of regular working people and the environment where it belongs, at the center of the discussion. That's just what our Green-Rainbow candidates are doing.
Juan Sanchez is running for Secretary of the Commonwealth to protect our voting system and ensure the inclusion of underprivileged and underrepresented groups. Sanchez also supports rank choice voting, so voters can express their true preferences when there are more than two candidates in a race.
Jamie Guerin is running for State Treasurer to end the influence of Wall Street in local politics. She advocates creating a state bank to invest our savings in local development projects.
Edward 'Jed' Stamas is running for State Auditor to be an independent watchdog for the people's money and ensure that tax revenues are used ethically and efficiently.
As nominees of the Green-Rainbow Party, all three of these candidates refuse to take campaign contributions from corporate PACs and lobbyists.
Our statewide candidates need to break the 3% threshold to help us regain major party status in Massachusetts. This legal status is a critical step toward building our Party and running strong campaigns in 2020. A Green-Rainbow vote is 33 times more powerful than a vote for a corporate party candidate!
We also have nominated three candidates for state representative: Matthew Moncreaff (First Worcester District), Yasmine Khdeer (Second Worcester District), and Danny Factor (Fourteenth Middlesex District). If elected, these candidates will bring new voices to the Statehouse for higher wages, renewable energy, social justice and expanding democratic accountability. Keep an eye open down ballot for these candidates!
In addition to voting, please consider making a contribution to their campaigns to help them get across the finish line!
Thank you!
In Solidarity,
Matthew Andrews
