In July of 2022 the Green Party of Minnesota (GPMN) held our Biennial Convention and Annual Meeting in Hastings. At that meeting we were supposed to hold elections for at-large Coordinating Committee (CC) seats. Unfortunately, the turnout was minimal and consisted of mostly CC members. So, the group present in July decided to postpone CC elections and extend the terms for the current at-large CC members until a future membership meeting.

More broadly, keeping the Party functioning has become increasingly difficult. So, the CC is calling a Special Membership Meeting to talk in depth about the current state of affairs with the GPMN and ask the membership to decide on the future status of the Party. This meeting will be held on Sunday, January 22 from 12:30 to 5:00 PM at the Minneapolis Central Library (300 Nicollet Mall, downtown Minneapolis) - RKMC Community Room (S-275), 2nd Floor.

The decision by the membership (those present on January 22) could mean anywhere from closing the party outright to determining what is needed for successful operation of the Party and having a suitable number of people step up to carry that forward, or somewhere in between.
