The Green Party of Texas will be having a state meeting in 1 week! Saturday, Dec. 9th at 10am. Head to https://www.txgreens.org/2023_december_state_meeting now to register. We'll be discussing bylaw & platform amendments, resolutions, & selecting members for the State Executive Committee (SEC). If you'd like to help and have been part of an affiliated group for at least nine months, let us know ASAP! If you have an amendment for the bylaws or platform, please send them to [email protected] before Friday, December 8.
Precinct Conventions
2024's Precinct Conventions are on March 12th! The time to organize is now, so let's get organized & informed TODAY!
If your area doesn't have an active Green Party group & you'd like to connect, please reach out & let us know what county you're in! If you're the only Green around, ask about the Rural Caucus. If you already have, you'll hear from us soon. We'll be doing some training at the State Meeting, so please attend if you can. You won't need to attend the entire meeting, but please register for the State Meeting to receive the agenda and updates.
BTW, if you want to run for office in 2024, the deadline to file is Dec. 11.

GPTX Reading Group
No meeting for December, sorry. This might be the next thing we read:

Volunteer Opportunities
Social Media
To help boost our social media posting frequency, a project has begun - a content calendar. If you have a little free time to research a month or just a week or two, so we have a backup topic for each day, email [email protected] to help out. There's hundreds of days in the year, but the more help we have, the easier it'll be.
SEC
As mentioned above, the state party leadership has At-Large & Secretary positions available for helpful folks. More information about what those roles mean is here: https://www.txgreens.org/bylaws#A2
Standing Committees
Several seats are unfilled on the national standing committees. At the Spring State Meeting, we filled a few seats, but many remain open. If you’re interested in serving in one of these positions, or would like to help with a smaller project, tell us at [email protected]. The SEC can approve appointment at any time, but we'd like to have the voting body decide at the state meeting. So don't wait!
Visual / Graphic Artists
Are you an artist? The donation of a logo design or graphic for merch would be a great help. A button-making party could be a great activity for your local group, but maybe you have other fun ideas. Let us know!
Action Highlight
Food Not Bombs - http://foodnotbombs.net/new_site/
Getting people's basic needs met and protesting war are some of our favorite things. Food Not Bombs has been doing that for years. There are several groups in Texas, so click that link above to see how you can help out.
If you know other organizations that are putting our key values in action, send us the info so we can get the word out.
In Solidarity,
Green Party of Texas
