Green Party of Idaho announces state convention
BOISE, Id – The Inaugural Green Party of Idaho State Convention will be held during October 18, 19 and 20 at The Gem Center for the Arts located at 2417 Bank Drive inn Boise, Idaho.
Presenters include a number of speakers on community organizing, environmentalism, creating social equity, and peace.
There are two signature events.
First, the Green Party POTUS debate, where most of the Green Party POTUS candidates will talk about party building, ballot access, their platforms and how they support the Green Party ideals. So for Sedinam Moyowasiza-Curry, Howie Hawkins, Dario Hunter, Dennis Lambert and David Rolde have confirmed they will attend.
The second is the Veterans as Community Activists panel, where several local veterans will be telling their stories, the ones that inspire their activism and continued service to their communities.
The topics cover a broad base of the Green Party issues, to highlight that the Green Party is not a single issue platform. Many of the speakers are from non-partisan organizations, and their presence is not an endorsement of the party, but a recognition that our values are consistent with theirs. Speakers represent the diverse culture of the Treasure Valley, Tai Simpson of Indigenous Idaho Alliance, Nimiipuu Nez Perce Tribe, Shadi Ismail with the IRC and a Syrian Army Veteran, and Phillip Thompson of the Idaho Black History Museum.
Events include:
- Guest speakers
- Green Party POTUS Candidate debates
- Ratification of the State Party Bylaws
- Ballot Access Signature collection
