Have a Green New Year
Rochester, NY – Now that the holidays are over and we're all getting back into the swing of things, it's time to continue the progress we've been making. January's monthly meeting gives us the opportunity to discuss what issues we should focus on and how those issues can help Green candidates running this year.
The new year also brings us the opportunity for new leadership. At the monthly meeting of the Green Party of Monroe County we will be electing party officers for 2019. Two Co-chairs, Secretary, and Treasurer are all up for election. Anyone registered Green in Monroe County is eligible to run and serve for the year. We also use Ranked Choice Voting, so if you've heard about RCV and wondered how it works, join us to see a live example - even if you're not a registered Green.
You've probably already heard about one Green who has already started running for office in 2019. Dave Sutliff-Atias is not running for re-election as Co-chair to run for City Council. Help direct your local Green Party by becoming a party officer.
The January Monthly meeting is this Thursday, January 10th, 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Flying Squirrel Community Center, 285 Clarissa Street in Rochester. The meeting is open to the public and wheelchair accessible.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
