Help us defend our ballot line
Today is the first General election we are participating in since we became an officially recognized political party in Missouri! Having statewide ballot access, allowed our 11 endorsed candidates to focus completely on campaigning instead of having to spend months gathering signatures to get on the ballot.
Our ballot line is key part of our strategy for building independent working class power in Missouri. Help us defend that achievement by voting for our statewide candidates, Jo Crain for US Senate and Don Fitz for State Auditor! If either of them get over 2% of the vote, we have statewide ballot access until 2022.
We want to thank all of our candidates for putting themselves on the line this year to give Missouri voters an alternative to the capitalist war parties. Please take a look at the Greens running up and down the ballot, perhaps in your district. Many of them are the first Greens to run in their districts. They deserve your vote today!
We've also included in this email, the ballot issues that the state party and various local parties have endorsed. And we've included information about election night watch parties in St. Louis and Kansas City. If you are throwing a Green Party watch party, please reply to let us know and we'll spread the word on our Facebook page.
2018 Ballot Issues
Remember That The Missouri Green Party Has Endorsed Amendment 1 (Clean Missouri) And 2 (New Approach Missouri's Medical Marijuana Amendment), And Opposes The Other Two Medical Marijuana Amendments (Amendment 3 & Proposition C). Amendment 2 Is The Constitutional Amendment That Allows Patients To Grow Their Own Plants At Home And The Tax On The Cannabis Goes To Help Veterans. Amendment 3 Funds A Research Center Controlled By The Amendment's Wealthy Backer And Proposition C Is A Change To State Law That Can Be Overturned By The State Legislature. The Amendment With The Most Votes Wins So It's Important To Vote Only For Amendment 2.
