Honoring M.K. Merelice
Help us remember one the Green-Rainbow Party's most cherished founders and important leaders, M.K. Merelice, Precinct 6 Town Meeting Member, Green Rainbow Party Member, neighborhood activist, and supporter of human rights causes globally, who passed away this fall. Join us June 26 at Emerson Garden Park for a tribute to this amazing woman.
We wanted to share this letter from her good friend and comrade, Arthur Conquest:
Neighbors, colleagues and friends, are going to honor her by dedicating a tree to her memory in the newly renovated Emerson Garden Park on Davis Avenue and Emerson Street, Brookline, MA. Thanks to help from Hugh and Arlene Mattison, a Katsura Tree has already been planted in the park and will be dedicated at the re-opening celebration on June 26, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
We are inviting everyone who knew this amazing woman to come participate in the dedication, and if they wish, to help raise $700 to pay for the tree and commemorative tag. ($25.00 is a suggested donation!) Tax deductible checks should be made out to the Brookline GreenSpace Alliance (with Merelice’s tree in the “Memo” line) and mailed to: Brookline GreenSpace Alliance, P.O. Box 470514, Brookline, MA, 02447.
Thank you kindly in advance,
Ruthann Sneider, Arthur Wellington Conquest III, Chris Dempsey, Ann Trecker
