Illinois Greens to meet in Chicago in March – March 24 & 25
The Illinois Green Party holds two Membership Meetings each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. These meetings are our chance to conduct official, statewide business and to hold trainings and educational sessions, as well as panel discussions and keynote addresses from invited speakers.
The Spring Convention will be held Saturday, March 24th and Sunday March 25th, in Chicago.
Membership Meetings are members' opportunity to vote on the Bylaws, Platform positions, and Executive Committee officers that guide the state party, as well as our slate of delegates to the national Green Party. The Spring Meeting will also feature a candidate meet-and-greet at the Saturday evening dinner.
For a full agenda of the Spring Meeting, please see the event page on our website.
The 2018 Spring Meeting will include the election of state party officers and our delegation to the national Green Party. If you are interested in nominating yourself or another Green Party member, please use the officer nomination webform, or email [email protected].
Saturday's workshops, panels, and speeches will be held at the Budlong Woods Library, located at 5630 N. Lincoln Avenue.
Sunday's business meeting will take place at a smaller location to be determined (an announcement will go out once a location is confirmed). We will also be making announcements in the coming month about the keynote speaker, dinner, and Friday evening social.
Officer elections will be conducted at the Spring Meeting. All members are eligible to nominate officers, and anyone who has been a member for at least one year is eligible for nomination. Members who have been active for less than a year may apply to the membership at the meeting for a waiver of the one-year requirement, as described in the ILGP Bylaws 6-C.
We'll see you in March!
Solidarity,
Illinois Green Party
