Indiana Green Party Files Complaint with Elkhart Election Board

Each election our Green candidates face the challenge of our uphill battle against the two-party controlled ballot. This means we have to fight even the white-out they use in their attempt to wipe away our progress. The Elkhart County Election office has been busy changing the signature sheets being submitted by Marshall Travis, our candidate for Indiana House District 48. We counted 15 signatures that were changed to not valid after they had been certified as valid. Our democracy is being undermined with the single stroke of a correction pen wielded at the Elkhart County Election office.
This past Friday the Indiana Green Party filed a complaint with the Elkhart County Clerk over discrepancies and irregularities with the certification of signatures for the Marshall Travis for Indiana House District 48 campaign. The math doesn't add up, certifications are missing, and not a single one has the county seal. We have never seen so many mistakes made by election officials that has left us not knowing how close we are to getting the 307 validated signatures for Marshall to be on the ballot - not a good position as we enter the last two months of our signature drive.
The Indiana Green Party is committed to getting our candidates on the ballot so Greens will be back out in Elkhart County to make sure we can overwhelm that Elkhart County correction pen.
We will not let our Green values or our Green candidates be erased by election officials. To keep us moving forward for democracy and to weave through these backroom schemes to keep Greens off local ballots we need your support of our Ballot Assess initiatives. Make your contribution to today to ensure the democratic process is not marked out by political appointees behind the locked doors of partisan election offices across the Hoosier state. Join the Indiana Green Party in holding the State to the same standards in the process that they hold us.
