In case you missed it, it’s official! Dr. Jill Stein was formally nominated by the national Green Party last week to be our candidate for president!

We are so excited to have Dr. Stein leading our party’s ticket once again this year during this critical election.

he last few months have brought tremendous political turmoil. It’s been just over 30 days since Joe Biden dropped out and Kamala Harris took his place as the Democratic nominee.

Many anti-war, pro-ceasefire voters were drawn to Harris and thought she may be a more reasonable voice for Palestine than Biden was.

But any hope of that was erased this week with the appalling display at the Democrat’s own convention, where Palestinian voices were silenced and shut out; where the Democrats’ official party platform read like something “written by AIPAC” according to some journalists; and where Harris accepted their nomination promising more war, more money for Wall Street and warmongers, and precious little for struggling Americans.

The Green Party convention could not have been a stronger contrast. Here’s an excerpt from Dr. Stein’s speech:

Jill’s decades of anti-war, environmental, and climate activism, not to mention the 20 years she spent practicing medicine, represents a clear record of Green Party values, and we are so fortunate to have her as our standard bearer.

We also got to meet Jill’s running mate, Dr. Rudolph “Butch” Ware.

Like Jill, Butch is an activist first. But he is also a dedicated educator, and – crucially in this moment – an honored historian whose work specializes in empire, colonialism, genocide and revolution.

Together they make a historic ticket – a Jewish woman and a Black Muslim man – with the critical perspective we need as America confronts ongoing genocides, unprecedented levels of wealth inequality, and an accelerating climate emergency.

Your Green Party here in Washington State was proud to endorse Jill early after her campaign launch. We need Greens to show up STRONG in November here in Washington state to hold our ballot line and deliver a mandate for change they can’t ignore.

Last week we also saw independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. withdraw from the race and endorse Donald Trump. For the voters who truly care about challenging power and breaking the duopoly, there is only one campaign left standing – Stein Ware 2024.

We must do everything we can to rally votes for Jill Stein and Butch Ware to make our demands for a ceasefire and a REAL Green New Deal heard!
