Our Statewide Monthly call for November 10th will be a Media Outreach Training led by Green Party of the US Media Director, Scott McLarty! We're so excited to have Scott teach us important and valuable information about how to do Media Outreach to promote our Green Party chapters and Green candidates.
Here's a little about why doing Media Outreach is so important:
Setting up a functioning media operation is essential for any Green candidate. Using the media correctly will give your campaign a strong public presence.
For a lot of the public, a candidate doesn't really exist until they see the candidate's name in the newspaper or on TV or a news web site. If the media doesn't know you exist, you might as well not bother running.
Don't assume you or your Green candidate is interesting just because you/they are running as a Green for public office with a great Green platform. Find ways to make your campaign newsworthy. While it's true that the corporate news media are biased against us, they'll cover Green candidates who do give them something interesting to report. Be the news!
