WASHINGTON, DC — Margaret Kimberley, Executive Editor and Senior Columnist of Black Agenda Report, will be the keynote speaker at the Green Party's Presidential Nominating Convention, which will take place online from Thursday, August 15 to Saturday, August 18.

Ms. Kimberley will speak on Saturday, August 17 before Green delegates nominate the party's presidential candidate.

The Green Party encourages members of the media who are interested in covering the nomination, press conferences, and other convention events to register for media credentials at the address above.

Margaret Kimberley, who also hosts the Black Agenda Radio podcast, is a member of the State Committee of the Green Party of New York. Her book Prejudential: Black America and the Presidents was published in 2020 by Steerforth Press.

"The Green Party is again proving itself to be indispensable as the duopoly parties collude on austerity, war, and ecological assaults," said Margaret Kimberley. "The people are told to support massive defense budgets, genocides, their own immiseration, cop cities, and climate change caused by fossil fuel production. Only the Green Party provides voters with a pathway for change and for the very survival of humanity."

On July 10, Ms. Kimberley published "Project 2025 Continues the Historic Racist, Fascist Project,"  a scathing commentary on the Democratic Party’s scare tactics surrounding the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025. Conservatism is the norm in US politics and Democrats are as likely to promote and to adopt right wing policies, such as Bill Clinton’s welfare "reform," a victory for conservatives that only a Democrat could have gotten away with. The column addresses the historic roots of conservative ideology and the Democratic Party's history of collusion with the GOP.

The Green Party's 2024 presidential nominee will hold a press conference on Saturday afternoon, August 17, at 5 pm ET after the nomination takes place. It will be hosted on a dedicated Zoom conference line.

During the nomination, voting by delegates from affiliated state Green Parties and Green identity caucuses will be conducted online via roll call from designated election reporters or through a secure electronic voting application, as determined by convention procedure.

Other online press conferences will feature national Green leaders, 2024 Green candidates and officeholders, and candidates seeking the party's presidential nomination. The Green Party will also host online workshops and panels for convention registrants throughout the week.
