Live Newsweek Q&A With Jill Stein, 2024 Green Party Presidential Candidate
Jill Stein, 2024 Green Party candidate for president, sat down with Newsweek for a live reader interview and Q&A at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7. Watch the livestream below.
In a recent interview with Newsweek, Stein explained how and why she is putting Israel's wars with Hamas and Hezbollah front and center of her campaign. She points to recent polling that suggests her rising support among Muslim and Arab Americans in key battleground states could make it hard for Kamala Harris to defeat Donald Trump in the presidential election.
Stein is a physician, activist, and politician who gained national recognition as the Green Party's candidate for President of the United States in 2012 and 2016, running on a platform that emphasized environmental sustainability, social justice and economic reform. Prior to her political career, Stein earned her medical degree from Harvard University and practiced as a physician. Her early activism was driven by concerns over public health issues and environmental policy reform.
Stein's presidential bids have aimed to challenge the traditional two-party system, advocating for policies such as a "Green New Deal," Medicare for All, and free public college tuition.
