This year citizens of Longmont have come together in support of the Green Party and have created their own group, and potentially their own Chapter in the near future. The group was initially created to campaign locally for Green Party Candidates on the ballot in Colorado. They have a core of dedicated people who canvassed many Saturdays at the Longmont Farmers Market, canvassed at street fairs, festivals, door to door, community college, and other important Longmont locations and local events.

Now that these campaigns for office are over they are interested in maintaining the Green Party activity in the community. They have some tasks in mind for the coming years. Here are a few:

• Instant Runoff Voting or Ranked Choice Voting for Longmont and Colorado.
  
  
• Support the movement to end the development of fossil fuel infrastructure and extraction.
  
  
• Help the Green Party of Colorado locate offices up for election in the future, and find candidates to run with the Green Party.
  
  
• Broadcast to the Longmont Community that there is a political party that is truly devoted to Ecological Wisdom, Social Justice, Grassroots Democracy, Nonviolence, Decentralization, Community-Based Economics, Feminism and Gender Equity, Respect for Diversity, Personal and Global Responsibility, and Future Focus.
