WASHINGTON, DC — Delegates from state Green Parties and Green caucuses elected three new co-chairs during the Green Party's virtual 2024 National Convention on Saturday, August 17, at which Jill Stein and Butch Ware were nominated for president and vice president, respectively.
The new co-chairs are Cassandra Lems (from New York), Justin Paglino (Connecticut), and Charles Ostdiek (Nebraska). Brief biographies of all three follow below.
They replace retiring co-chairs Margaret Elisabeth (Washington), Tony Ndege (North Carolina), and Tamar Yager (Virginia), whom the Green Party thanks for their service and leadership.
The continuing co-chairs are Craig Cayetano (New Jersey), Darryl! LC Moch (District of Columbia, National Black Caucus), Alfred Molison (Texas), and Joseph Naham (New York). Green Party secretary Holly Hart (Iowa) and treasurer Bob Stuller (Connecticut) also continue in office.
All co-chairs serve as members of the Green Party's national Steering Committee and as public spokespersons for the party. They are available for interview through the contacts above.
The co-chairs' terms are two years, with staggered yearly elections taking place at the Green Party's Annual National Meetings and Presidential Nominating Conventions, and members are limited to two consecutive terms.
Greens also thanks the party's Annual National Meeting Committee and the committee's co-chairs Dee Taylor (Utah) and Tamar Yager (Virginia) for their hard work in organizing the 2024 Green Convention.
