Our Taxes, Their War.

The Green Party has always maintained that a budget is a moral document. It is a reflection of what a society values most. Unfortunately, the current administration – with the complicity of both sides of the aisle in Congress – has made its priorities devastatingly clear.
As we approach Tax Day, we are reflecting on a recent observation by long-time peace activist Ruth Benn:
"The Trump administration released the FY2027 federal budget on April 3. The next day the New York Times ran an article with the headline, 'War Clarified Trump's Spending Priorities: The Military, Not Child Care.' Of course, most of us know that not only are they cutting social programs that help children, the militarism of this administration is killing children in the wars on Iran, Gaza, and Lebanon."
This Tax Day, we are proud to endorse Taxpayers Against Genocide to demand a radical shift in these priorities. We aren't just asking for a budget change; we are demanding a system change!
Let’s unite in the streets to say: stop using our tax dollars to fund genocide, empire, war, ICE, and oppression! Protests will occur in cities and towns across the country at sites such as IRS buildings and weapons companies.
No action is too small, from banner drops to leafleting in front of post offices. You don't have to be a passive participant in this system. This Tax Day, let the war mongers in D.C. know that your voice matters!
Know that however you are called to action, the Green Party will be there with you fighting for peace and an end to America’s imperialist wars! We refuse to be silent as our hard-earned tax dollars are used to finance genocide. We choose to invest in the planet and its people instead.
In Solidarity,
The Green Party of the United States
