Paige Reiring for House of Delegates 79

The Mountain Party of West Virginia has nominated Paige Reiring as our candidate for House of Delegates 79, covering downtown Morgantown, First Ward, South Park, Greenmont, South Hills, Sabraton, Jerome Park. and Woodbur. Please allow her to introduce herself:
My name is Paige Reiring, and I'm running for House of Delegates 79. I grew up as the only child of a single mother, and we spent much of my early childhood just barely staying afloat, sometimes debating which bills we could pay that month. Now, I spend my days side by side with folks all across West Virginia, whether that's right here in Morgantown building our community gardens or down in McDowell County mucking out basements.
West Virginians everywhere are being crushed beneath the rising costs of utilities, gas, and groceries. The only roads through many hollers are riddled with potholes or washed out altogether. While healthcare and education are cut for the most vulnerable, out-of-state companies are given tax breaks and handouts to build schools serving the state's most wealthy.
Meanwhile, the rich man's law protects the same people profiting off of political corruption. West Virginia's leadership and legislators accept money from and trade stocks on the same corporations who take, destroy and pollute the very land on which our children play, the very air that our elders breathe, the very water with which we are meant to cleanse ourselves. And then they tell us to be grateful for the dusty crumbs that are left behind
We deserve affordable utilities controlled by the people who use them. We deserve stable housing options where tenants are empowered to combat bad landlords. We deserve a Just Transition to affordable, long-lasting energy solutions that value the lives and liberties of our workers. And we can only achieve this by cutting corruption from our politics.
I know that the future of West Virginia is the future of our very nation itself. "Future generations will not charge us for what we have done. They will charge and condemn us for what we have left undone." West Virginia needs action, so let's get to work and make that brighter, braver future happen - together.
