Les Lester, the Green Party endorsed candidate for Congress from Minnesota's 5th Congressional District will be holding a press conference Monday morning at 11:00 am at the Secretary of State's Office - Elections and Administration, 180 State Office Building, 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, St. Paul, MN 55155.  He is holding this press conference to bring attention to the way Keith Ellison undermined democracy by waiting until the last day of filing to abdicate his seat, taking away the opportunity for qualified citizen candidates to file in time to appear on the ballot. 

Les is calling for the Federal Election Commission and the Secretary of State to develop a measure that would allow potential candidates extra time to file and appear on the ballot in the event of a last minute abdication.  This press conference will also help promote Les Lester's write-in campaign for the CD5 Congressional seat.

If you are available to support Les Lester in person at this press conference, please arrive by 10:30 am.  The more Green Party supporters we can get out to stand with our candidates at public appearances, the more coverage and support we can get for their campaigns.
